What do you do for a living now? I am involved in government and

am currently in my fifth term.
·
What social and educational benefits did
playing high school sports provide? Playing sports allowed me to challenge
myself as an individual and learn to be a part of something bigger. Team
camaraderie was also an important aspect of the social development of playing
team sports.
·
What's the most important life lesson you’ve
learned from participating in high school activities? Coach Watkins drilled in us “to try
is to fail, to do is to succeed.” I live by those words. What they mean to me
is to always do your best.
·
What are the most important things you
learned from your high school coaches and high school teammates? Success
isn’t defined by wins or losses, it is defined by your attitude during the
process.
·
How did participating in HS sports
help you academically? Sports develops discipline and confidence, which is
crucial for succeeding academically.
·
What was your favorite moment as a Musketeer? When I scored a goal with a few
seconds left in the game from thirty-five yards out against Hauppauge.
·
What were the benefits of growing up in
Central Islip and attending the Central Islip HS? Central Islip is a diverse community with hard working people. The
benefit of experiencing that diversity prepares you better for the world that
other students from less diverse areas may not have.
·
Anything else you want to add? Participating in team sports was
inspiring and thrilling. To be a part of something that the entire school would
have pride in was special.
